While many of our Pharmacy Assistants come to us after completing a Pharmacy Assistant program at college, many others begin with no previous pharmacy experience and learn through structured, on-the-job training.

Supporting Patients and Customers
- Greet and assist patients and customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Support patients by coordinating pharmacy services and appointments.
- Assist customers with over-the-counter product inquiries and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience while helping improve the health and well-being of the community.
Prescription Preparation and Processing
- Collect and process prescription information accurately.
- Prepare and package prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
- Enter patient and prescription information into pharmacy software systems.
- Process prescription refills and third-party insurance billing.
Inventory and Product Management
- Receive, stock, and organize medications and healthcare products.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and replenishment.
- Track medication expiry dates and manage returns in accordance with pharmacy standards.
Administrative and Payment Support
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Support administrative functions, including filing, faxing, and coordinating follow-up communications.
Working as Part of the Pharmacy Team
- Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
